They are by no means guaranteed, but are designed to give the average user a basic understanding when making a purchasing decision. CAUTION: Before attempting to service any electrical item be sure and disconnect power to both the indoor and outdoor unit. Also it may be a good idea to remove any batteries in your thermostat when it is wired directly to the indoor and outdoor unit. This will avoid any potential for shorting out the thermostat while you are servicing your system.
